Hester Collyer hi maqbuda bejn ħaltejn: żewġha, l-Imħallef Collyer, joffrilha ħajja ta’ sigurtà iżda mingħajr passjoni, waqt li Freddie, li qabel kien pilota tal-RAF, ma jistax jikkommetti ruħu għal relazzjoni magħha. Konfuża u b’qalbha maqsuma, Hester ma tafx aktar x’inhu l-iskop ta’ ħajjitha. Magħluqa bejn il-ħitan tal-appartament tagħha, tibda ħbiberija mhux tas-soltu ma’ Dr Miller, li wkoll qed iġorr l-iħirsa tal-passat tiegħu. Din il-ħbiberija twassal lil Hester biex tibda tagħmel il-kuraġġ u ġġib is-saħħa li għandha bżonn biex timxi ’l quddiem.

Hester Collyer is trapped in a dilemma: her husband, Judge Collyer, offers her a life of security but without passion, while Freddie, a former RAF pilot, is unable to commit to a relationship with her. Confused and heartbroken, Hester no longer knows what purpose her life holds. Confined to her apartment, she begins an unusual friendship with Dr Miller, who is also burdened by his own past. This friendship leads Hester to start seeking the courage and strength she needs to move forward.
Filming notice: Please note that the performance on Saturday, 31 October 2026, will be filmed.
This play contains references to themes of suicide, although there are no graphic scenes depicting suicide.
