What happens when students take science into their own hands? At Ħandaq Middle School and San Andrea School, young citizen scientists are doing just that, combining curiosity, data, and action to tackle environmental issues through the GLOBE Program, an international science and education programme.
In this Malta Café Scientifique event, students from Ħandaq Middle School and San Andrea School will present their investigations as part of the GLOBE Malta Air Quality Campaign and the GLOBE Malta Rainfall Campaign. Their talk highlights how local data collection and global collaboration can empower the next generation of environmental leaders. Students will also show how members of the public can become citizen scientists themselves by contributing environmental observations through the GLOBE Observer app.
Ħandaq Middle School and San Andrea School have a long-standing commitment to sustainability-focused science. From rainfall to air quality, these students regularly engage in environmental monitoring and awareness-building. These young researchers are more than students; they are ambassadors for change.
Come and see how science, when placed in the hands of youth, can inform and inspire action for a cleaner, healthier future.
