The Last Lamentation hija ritwal tal-funeral għall-Mediterran, meqjus bħala post ta’ stennija, sospensjoni u mewt, inkarnazzjoni ta’ assenza. Salib it-toroq tad-dijaspori tal-lum, il-baħar jirribatti permezz ta’ prestazzjoni korali ispirata mit-tradizzjoni antika ta’ luttu professjonali, li tgħaqqad il-lament ta’ Sardinja – il-post fejn twieled l-artist – ma’ dak tal-pajjiżi ġirien. Ikkonċeput bħala ritwal biex tieħu sehem fih aktar milli prestazzjoni li wieħed iħares lejha, ​​The Last Lamentation hija bikja komuni li tirrakkonta t-traġedja tal-baħar u tilħaq bħal eku lejn il-Mediterran kollu. Minħabba l-kundizzjoni tat- temp The Last Lamentation MHUX ser titella’ fil-post magħżul. Għaldaqstant flok jitħassar dan il-proġett, l-artisti għamlu d-deċiżjoni tagħhom li l-prestazzjoni titella’ fuq ġewwa b’sens ta’ ritwal, ħarsa immaġinarja u poetika tagħha.

The Last Lamentation is a funeral ritual for the Mediterranean, seen as a place of waiting, suspension and passing away, an embodiment of absence. A crossroads of present-day diasporas, the sea reverberates through a choral performance inspired by the ancient tradition of professional mourners, which connects the lament of Sardinia – the artist’s birthplace – with that of the neighbouring countries. Conceived as a ritual to take part in rather than a performance to look at, The Last Lamentation is a shared weeping that narrates the tragedy of the sea and reaches out like an echo to the entire Mediterranean. Orchestrated by twelve women who, backs to the audience, punctuate the landscape with their dark presence, the ritual is made of a repetitive and hypnotic vocal and choreographic score that reworks ritual codes into contemporary forms, a pre-verbal language connecting the mourners to the surrounding environment and its living beings.

Due to the inclement weather condition The Last Lamentation will NOT take place at the chosen location. Rather than calling it off the artists decided to exceptionally bring it indoor, so to share with the audience -if not the performance per se- at least the sense of the ritual, and a glimpse of her imaginary and poetic.
