Fo is a multi-disciplinary ceramist based in London and Beijing, her work explores the intersection of art, food, and sensory experiences. Fo creates immersive environments that challenge the traditional boundaries of art and food, inviting viewers to engage with their work through sight, touch, and taste.
CN is an innovative textile artist and storyteller who was born in China and is now based in both London and Shanghai. Her art is rooted in poetic, narrative, and artisanal traditions, with a focus on affect-driven mediums that establish an empathic connection with the viewer.
Fo and CN is from the FluidTable, an art group that creates experimental dining event, and the other member is Minxi, they are all alumni of the Royal College of Art.
Fo is driven to create art that transcends mere aesthetics and instead fosters a profound connection between individuals and food, as well as between each another. Her artwork serves as a tangible manifestation of these relationships, making them accessible and easily understood. It reflects the world as Fo perceives it.
CN’s deep-seated passion for textiles began during her formative years in fashion, where she honed her creative skills. Through a dialogue with the body, CN has developed a fascination with the nuanced relationship between individuals, space, and emotions, which serve as the three primary themes of her work.
We are fascinated by the Maltese landscape and culture, the maritime culture and the traditional ceramics and textile crafts of the region are things we are looking forward to exploring in depth, we want to merge the contemporary with the traditional in terms of technique, form and function, and to combine Malta’s local culture with the world’s cultures, to innovate while preserving the traditions, and to join forces with local farmers, artisanal workshops, suppliers and restaurants to form a close community and then work together to create a meal or meals that will impress. The project is about forming a close community with local farmers, artisanal workshops, suppliers and restaurants, and then working together to create one or several impressive dinners, with a set-up and tableware related to the aforementioned cultures and workshops, as well as the ingredients and the form of the dishes. This project will allow locals and tourists, old and young, to participate, to experience Malta by making or enjoying a delicious meal, to experience the space we have created as a continuation of culture and history, and to experience the moment when innovation and tradition collide and merge.
